Big medal haul for CNMI grapplers in Guam Marianas Open

Dozens of grapplers from the CNMI’s Trench Tech Mixed Martial Arts Academy and Saipan Submissions Academy brought home a haul of medals from the Guam Marianas Open Gi & No-Gi International Championship held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the University of Guam Calvo Field House, earning podium finishes across multiple divisions.

Hundreds of athletes and spectators from all over filled the venue for the championship, which was condensed from its usual two-day format into a single day due to Typhoon Champi’s passage last weekend.

The championship marked the conclusion of the annual Guam Pro Series, which features eight events across Asia-Pacific throughout the year.
