Welcome to MP’s monthly segment, Built By Latte Built.

This segment highlights athletes training at Latte Built who are chasing their fitness goals and inspiring others along the way.

This month, we feature Herminia Agulto—a young, up-and-coming softball athlete with experience in multiple leagues.

Now enlisted in the Air Force, she is a Marianas High School graduate who played two seasons in the outfield for the softball team. She also played in local leagues and represented a CNMI women’s team at the 20th CNMI Labor Day Softball Tournament in Tacoma, Washington, this year.

The 17-year-old began her journey at Latte Built a little more than a year ago. Her experience during that time, she said, has been really good, and she has been able to do a lot that allowed her to evolve as an athlete. “This gym has been great for me,” she said.

As to why she chose to work out at Latte Built, she said it is near her house, making it easy to access, and she can drop by whenever she wants. On top of that, with all the equipment it has, she said it has helped her succeed as an athlete and get better and stronger. As she is enlisted in the Air Force, she added that training at Latte Built is also preparing her for that next journey.

Her training at the gym consists of leg days on Mondays and Thursdays, upper body on Tuesdays, plyometrics on Wednesdays, and full body on Fridays. The equipment that has helped her grow stronger includes the squat machines and the bars.

For those who want to work out or are looking for a gym to meet their fitness goals, she said she recommends Latte Built because it offers 24/7 access. “You are able to come whenever you please—whatever time works for you, so it’s really good,” she said.
