Welcome to MP’s monthly segment, Built By Latte Built.

This segment highlights athletes and individuals training at Latte Built who are chasing their fitness goals and inspiring others along the way.

This month, we feature John Jimeno—a Zumba instructor and former bodybuilder.

The Zin, or Zumba instructor, has been leading Zumba classes at Latte Built Gym since 2025 and also uses the gym to keep up with his fitness.

As a member of the gym since they had a location at Kagman, Jimeno said he uses the gym for weight and strength training, with Zumba already providing the cardio aspect in the medium to high intensity class.

He keeps up with his fitness by working out at least once or three times a week outside of the Zumba classes that he teaches, but his main focus now is leading the Zumba classes. “Up until two years ago, I found my calling as a Zumba instructor. Then just in December of 2025, I ended up getting a time slot here to be able to teach Zumba to the Latte Built members.”

With that, he said, “I wouldn’t say that I’m an actual dancer because growing up, I was never a dancer, I just found the love for Zumba because it was fun. I got the cardio that I needed, and I was able to provide a safe space for a lot of the people here. When they do come in here stressed out or just wanting to get their cardio in, by the time they get out of my class, they’re happier than when they first walk in.”

What he loves about the gym, Jimeno said, is the friendly people and the safe space it provides. “This gym has been very, very friendly to me ever since I walked in at the Kagman branch before. The people that I worked out with—just the people in general, they’re very friendly, the staff over here are just very accommodating. That’s one of the biggest things that I appreciate. The gym itself is basically a safe space for people wanting to work on their fitness goals and wanting to better themselves.”

This segment is brought to you by Latte Built.
