Built by Latte Built: June Yu
Welcome to MP’s monthly segment, Built By Latte Built.
This segment highlights athletes and individuals training at Latte Built who are chasing their fitness goals and inspiring others along the way.
This month, we feature June Yu—a tennis player with loads of local and regional competitions under his belt.
The 18-year-old competed in the POJC (Pacific Oceania Junior Championship) for the CNMI three years in a row and won a gold medal in 2022, bronze in 2023, and silver in 2024. He also competed in the 2023 Solomon Island Pacific Games and was part of the Junior Davis Cup team in 2024 that won against Macau.
As a member for the past six months, Yu said he joined the gym to get bigger, stronger, and improve his fitness as a tennis player. He also appreciates that the gym is open 24 hours a day, saying, “everybody can come in whenever they want to,” and also enjoys the perk of receiving a free health shake on his birthday.
He uses the gym for everything—from weightlifting and core workouts to cardio exercises. Yu added that he also enjoys working out with friends and neighbors, saying it provides extra motivation.
