CEDA Announces a Three-Month Loan Payment Deferral for Clients Impacted by Super Typhoon Bavi and Sinlaku

The Commonwealth Economic Development Authority (CEDA) announces a three-month loan payment deferral for eligible clients, providing critical relief as the community recovers from the devastating impacts of Super Typhoon Bavi and the ongoing recovery from Super Typhoon Sinlaku.

In direct response to Governor David M. Apatang’s state of emergency declaration for ST Bavi and Sinlaku and President Donald J. Trump’s approval of the federal emergency declaration for ST Sinlaku, CEDA’s Board of Directors approved the temporary relief measure to help businesses and borrowers maintain financial stability during this challenging period.

The deferment period begins in July 2026 and is meant to be a proactive step to support CEDA’s clients, protect jobs, and accelerate economic recovery across The Marianas. By easing immediate cash flow pressures, the deferment is meant to assist businesses to stay open, retain employees, and contribute to the rebuilding of our islands.
