Dr. Laura Webb and Dr. Geoffrey Fraiche were captured on security footage on September 1, 2025, shopping at ABC Store. Shortly after, an edited clip of them shopping that went viral on social media showed Webb putting a package of disposable razors in her purse without paying for it. The couple said the video does not show the complete story. They purchased $236.42 worth of items that night and said they inadvertently forgot to pay for the $15.29 pack of disposable razors. They admit it was an honest mistake and was not intentional. They returned to the ABC Store with the unopened and unused razors and offered to pay for them when they saw the video being shared online. However, they said the store’s manager declined payment but accepted the return. They said they have not been contacted by the CNMI Department of Public Safety about the matter. Their attorney said no charges have been filed.

Their attorney, Janet King, has also noted concern about how the surveillance footage, which is believed to have been in CNMI DPS custody, was released to the public. Marianas Press has reached out to police for comment.

“Even the store manager appears to have viewed the matter as a mistake. The true damage has come not from the store but from the release of an altered video while in DPS custody. That release has already unjustly harmed the reputations of two doctors who serve this community, and the extent of the harm, both personal and professional, remains unknown. This situation is not only deeply hurtful to them but also raises serious questions of procedure and accountability for the DPS’s handling of sensitive evidence,” their attorney wrote to CNMI DPS Commissioner Macaranas on Wednesday.

Janet King added, “We therefore request DPS’s assistance in addressing the ongoing harm caused by the release of this tampered video, including determining how it entered the public sphere while in DPS custody and what corrective steps DPS will take to prevent such incidents in the future.”

Marianas Press sat down with the doctors, who are married and are both OB-GYNs at the NMI Hospital, who responded to the viral clip and shared their side of the story. They also address previous reports of their arrest in 2020 after stealing a Trump flag when they lived in Florida.
