Teachers and staff of the CNMI Public School System on Rota received care packages yesterday from their colleagues on Saipan. Through a partnership with American Red Cross, roughly 100 care packages, 60 cleaning kits and 50 cases of water were distributed, with essential toiletries, laundry detergent, canned goods and snacks being just a few of the items given to PSS’s Rota staff. Principals Daisy Quitgua of Sinapalo Elementary and Annette Calvo of Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Jr. Sr. High School, along with Office of Pupil Transportation’s Lorenzo Hocog, led the distribution out of the Sinapalo Headstart. This selfless effort by PSS Saipan, who are still recovering from the devastation of Super Typhoon Sinlaku, comes only a week after Super Typhoon Bavi shredded through the Marianas, with a direct impact to Rota.
