Democrat Therese Terlaje leads Guam governor's race in early count
Democratic Sen. Therese Terlaje leads Republican Sen. Tony Ada by 80 votes in Guam's race for governor, 5,243 to 5,163, with 21 of 59 precincts counted.
Guam, where America's Election Day begins, had 59,146 registered voters for the 2026 general election.
If the trend holds, Terlaje and her running mate, Sen. Sabina Perez, will take office as Guam faces soaring gas and food prices, military buildup that includes a 360-degree missile defense system, concerns over deep-sea mining, and a slowly recovering tourism industry.
The first batch of precincts counted included the vote-rich villages of Dededo and Yigo.
