NOTICE TO ALL NMISF RETIREES AND BENEFICIARIES

This notice serves as an official communication regarding the upcoming October 15, 2026 benefit payment. At this time, the Department of Finance (DOF) confirms that no sufficient funds have been identified in the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget to issue the scheduled 25% pension payment for October 15, 2026. As a result, funding for this and all subsequent payments is not available.

With the cessation of the 25% payment after September 30, retirees may have insufficient pension benefits to cover their existing obligations, including health and life insurance premiums or Member Home Loan payments. As a result, payments for these obligations will need to be made directly to the Group Health Life Insurance Trust Fund (GHLI) or the Northern Mariana Islands Retirement Fund (NMIRF). For assistance, the NMIRF/GHLI Office may be reached at 670-664-5455/56.

We recognize the importance of these payments to our retirees and beneficiaries. The Department of Finance will continue to work with the Governor’s Office, Office of Management & Budget and the Legislature should funding sources become available.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions, please contact the Division of Administrative Services at 670-664-1101.
