Hawaiʻi-Based Relief Efforts Continue for Marianas Following Super Typhoon Bavi
Daughter of Rota and now based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, Celeste Mendiola, together with the Aloha Pono Lions, raised $5,000 and collected essential relief supplies to support those impacted by Super Typhoon Sinlaku. A portion of the shipping container that arrived in Saipan from Hawaiʻi in early June was filled with donations gathered through their efforts.
Continuing their commitment to supporting the Marianas community, Prime Roast Cafe and the Aloha Pono Lions will host a Chamorro Plate fundraiser this coming weekend to benefit relief efforts following Super Typhoon Bavi. Community members may also purchase plates to be donated to Marianas residents in Hawaiʻi for medical referrals. Those interested in participating can contact Prime Roast Cafe to place an order, and donated meals will be delivered directly to Marianas patients.
