Delegates Kimberlyn King-Hinds and James Moylan delivered messages of solidarity and support to U.S. service members, particularly those from the islands, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following U.S. military strikes on Iran.

King-Hinds, representing the Northern Mariana Islands, underscored the personal impact of global instability on small island communities with deep ties to the armed forces.

“As a representative of a U.S. territory in the Indo-Pacific, I understand firsthand that global instability is not abstract for us. It is personal. When tensions rise involving Iran, communities like ours immediately think about the safety of our service members and their families. Many of them come from small island communities like ours. We know their names. We know their parents,” she said.

“In moments like this, we stand united behind the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and remain committed to protecting American lives while pursuing strength, stability, and peace,” King-Hinds added.

In Washington, D.C., Guam Delegate James Moylan said he is closely monitoring developments in the region following U.S. strikes on Iran and retaliatory activity.

“The United States remains the strongest and most capable military force in the world, and our service members continue to demonstrate extraordinary professionalism and courage in carrying out their mission,” Moylan said.

He stressed that the U.S. “stands firmly with our allies and partners across the Middle East, including Israel, as they face growing security threats in the region,” adding that America’s commitment to the safety and stability of its allies “remains unwavering.”

A veteran, Moylan offered prayers for troops deployed overseas, with particular mention of Guam.

“As a veteran, I know that moments like this place tremendous weight on the shoulders of the men and women who serve. My prayers are with all of our service members currently deployed, especially the sons and daughters of Guam who are stationed in the region and standing watch on behalf of our nation,” he said.

Moylan also said his office is closely following reports regarding attacks on the U.S. Navy installation in Bahrain and attempted strikes on military bases in the Middle East.

“The safety of our service members must remain the highest priority, and we will continue monitoring developments and seeking more information on the administration’s strategy in the days and weeks to come,” he said. “Tonight we stand in solidarity with our service members and their families around the world.”

Meanwhile, Joint Region Marianas announced that it has raised its Force Protection Condition level from Alpha to Bravo as a precautionary measure.

The command said the adjustment is part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of personnel, families and mission capabilities. While there is no specific threat to the region at this time, the change reflects a general increase in vigilance in alignment with Department of Defense security protocols.

Base personnel and visitors may notice increased random antiterrorism measures and are encouraged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity. Normal operations will continue with appropriate modifications to access procedures and base activities as required under FPCON Bravo guidelines.

Joint Region Marianas said it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary, and thanked the community for its continued cooperation and support.
