Marianas artists featured at Ocean of Peace exhibit in Hawai’i

The East-West Center Gallery opened the Ocean of Peace exhibition to the public on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Inspired by the historic 2025 declaration by Pacific Island leaders naming the Blue Pacific Continent an “Ocean of Peace,” the exhibition features 11 artists whose work explores themes of Story, Restoring and Re-story-ing; Generations and Responsibility to Community; and Renewal, Resilience and Protection.

Marianas Press Contributor Marquina Hofschneider spoke with Annie Reynolds of the East-West Center Gallery about the exhibition, as well as Guåhan-rooted artists Manny Crisostomo and James Bamba about their contributions to Ocean of Peace.
