Micronesia Climate Change Alliance focus on elderly, sick, and disabled in mass feeding effort
After helping with several community relief projects following Super Typhoon Sinlaku, the Micronesia Climate Change Alliance is now starting a mass feeding effort focused on the elderly, sick, and disabled, beginning today, Friday, May 8.
With World Central Kitchen ending its mass feeding efforts yesterday, Asia Camacho Hilario and Benjamin Babauta said MCCA wanted to help fill the gap and continue getting meals out to people who need it most. The goal is to provide 100 meals a day over the next nine days, along with canned goods.
The effort is being supported by local volunteers, The Place, Poki Yaki, and Everest Kitchen. MCCA also purchased 1,000 pounds of kamuti from Rota farmers to be used in the meals.
Anyone wanting to help or be part of the effort is encouraged to reach out.
