600 care packages were distributed to every home on Rota today out of the Mtn2Sea Ministries, an organization based out of Georgia. According to Minister Chad Robbins, it was through facebook that he was able to gather information about the impacts of Super Typhoon Bavi and the needs and means to help. Robbins adds that purchasing 99% of the items distributed from Rota businesses was important to ensure that the funds out of his organization get circulated within the community.

Senator Donald Manglona who has been working closely with non-profit organizations like Mtn2Sea Ministries since Bavi hit the island of Rota, thanks island residents for their continued patience as volunteers continue to work hard to get typhoon relief supplies to residents.

Senator Manglona also adds that he has been communication with local agencies, “getting updates as to when certain service will be restored, and so we want to get as much information out to our people so that they’re aware of the situation and they can better plan for how they will proceed with getting back to business.

MP Rota Correspondent Joy Atalig reports.
