On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, members of the Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands, along with their supporters and friends from across the CNMI will gather for the Blue Wave Banquet at the Kensington Hotel Kensington Hall. Building on the momentum from recent stateside primary elections, NMI Democrats will gather to celebrate their history, reflect on their present, and cast a vision for the future of the party and the Mariana Islands.

“Not only are we raising funds for the upcoming election, we are raising funds for our community outreach efforts through our Democrats Care Committee, or DemsCare,” stated NMI Democratic Party Chair Annie Pickelsimer. “Our DemsCare food drives and outreach activities are a way for the Party to give back, and we won’t stop giving back. That is our commitment, and that is our promise.”

The Blue Wave Banquet will feature a special keynote by Democratic National Committee Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta. This will be the first time a DNC leader will be visiting the CNMI, and the NMI Democratic Party stands ready to receive him and to bestow upon him the warmth and hospitality of the Mariana Islands and its peoples. Not only is Vice Chair Kenyatta a leader in the national party, he is an elected representative in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, serving the people of the 181st district located in Philadelphia since 2019. He was the first openly LGBTQ+ person of color to serve in Pennsylvania’s General Assembly and one of the youngest elected to office in 2019.

Tickets are $100.00 and can be purchased by calling Chair Annie Pickelsimer at (670) 287–1356 or Shawna Indalecio at (670) 287–5734. Tickets can also be purchased online via Paypal to @nmidems. Please include the note “Blue Banquet” and your contact number when purchasing online, and a Party representative will reach out to you.

The Blue Wave Banquet will be held at the Kensington Hotel Kensington Hall on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 6:00–9:00PM. Guests are encouraged to don their best blue island wear for the occasion and can expect delicious food and excellent entertainment.
