Nonprofits Unite to Provide Clothing Relief for Rota After Super Typhoon Bavi

Several non-profit organizations continue to rally around Rota, collaborating their efforts to help the island after Super Typhoon Bavi's direct impact. Organizations like Luta Cares, From Luta For Luta, The Ayuda Foundation, The Lady Diann Torres Foundation, The Micronesian Climate Change Alliance, and the Rota Mayor’s Office held a successful clothing drive at the Sinapalo Youth Center this past Wednesday.

MCCA and FLFL local lead, Chanelle Manglona shares with MP that helping each other is the only way Rota can recover from a disaster like Super Typhoon Bavi, slowly but surely.

MP also had a chance to talk to some of the non-profit organization’s youth volunteers who shared the sentiment, “We are in this together,” “Luta Strong!”

There will be another clothing drive at the Roundhouse in SongSong Village, today from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Clothing and shoes will be available while supplies last.
