The training will be led by John Peaveler, an Animal Services Professional and Disaster Response Specialist with extensive experience in humane animal handling, capture techniques, and community-based animal management. The session is designed for community members, volunteers, animal welfare advocates, and anyone interested in learning safe and effective ways to work with dogs and cats.
Topics covered during the training include:
• Safe animal handling techniques
• Dog and cat capture methods
• Elements of animal overpopulation management
All attendees will receive a FREE Seresto flea and tick collar, a leash, and a water bowl, while supplies last.
“This training is about giving people practical skills they can actually use in the real world,” said Ruby Ma, Co-Founder and Clinic Director“Safe handling protects both people and animals, and it is a critical part of improving animal welfare on our island.”
Amber Weston, Executive Director of the Saipan Humane Society, added, “Community education is one of the most effective tools we have to address animal overpopulation. When people understand how to safely handle and manage animals, it leads to better outcomes for pets, families, and the community as a whole.”
