Slim Reapers, Air Ballers claim G-Rollers 3x3 tourney champs

After a whole afternoon of 3x3 basketball action, Team Slim Reapers were crowned champions of the U17 division, while team Air Ballers claimed the U15 championships in the Inaugural Pacific-Amusement 2026 G-Rollers Youth 3x3 BBall Showdown at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Slim Reapers, made up of Matthew P., Josh Y., Nigel K., and Louis R., defeated the Sinlaku Survivors, 11-10, with the Air Ballers’ Justan Defang, Johnavan Camacho, Bruce Song, and Desmond Camacho winning by one as well, 10-9, over the Sixers.

On why they had the tourney, G-Rollers’ president Joe Diaz said, “The kids have been waiting for this after the storm. Our youth—and we invited everybody—we made it free due to the sponsors making it happen. Our board decided to push out this 3x3. There’s a lot going on with our national federation and 3x3 is what they’re really promoting so this is a good opportunity for a lot of our basketball players that are coming up.”

As for the skills and performance of the players, he said, “A lot of the performances I see—there’s a lot of potential. This is a good program for them to go up to the national program.”

The turnout, Diaz said, was great. Instead of eight teams per division, it went up to 10 in the U17, and nine in the U15 division as more kids wanted to join and play.

The G-Rollers Youth Sports Club, which was founded in 1999, also has more events coming up, with a 1v1 King of the Court tourney on Oct. 24-25 with the venue and time TBA; a Thanksgiving Hoopfest tourney on Nov. 25-29, with the venue and time also TBA. Then, the G-Rollers U15 and U17 teams are flying to Thailand for a youth basketball tournament, with a pending date as well.

Diaz then thanked the sponsors of the tourney including Pacific Amusement, Rep. Elias Rangamar, Speaker Edmund S. Villagomez, and Rep. Vincent Aldan.
