STATEMENT FROM THE COMMITTEE TO ELECT ATTAO–VILLAGOMEZ

“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” — Proverbs 31:28

It is with profound sadness that the Attao–Villagomez Committee to Elect announces the passing of Ramona Tenorio Attao, beloved mother of gubernatorial candidate Blas Jonathan “BJ” Tenorio Attao, a cherished wife of Jesus Attao, and mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to the Attao household and the many others she loved and treated like her own.

Affectionately known as “Auntie Mona” and “Nana,” she was deeply loved by her family and those whose lives she touched.

“Today, my family and I are grieving the loss of someone whose love, strength, and guidance have shaped our lives. My mother meant everything to us, and we are grateful for the many years we were blessed to have her. We ask for your prayers and privacy as our family navigates this difficult time.” — BJ Attao

Lt. Governor candidate Edmund Joseph Sablan Villagomez shared:

“My heart goes out to BJ and his entire family. Auntie Mona was someone whose presence and warmth extended beyond her immediate family and into our community. During this difficult time, may they find comfort in the love surrounding them and strength in the memories they will forever carry.”

The Candidates and the Committee extend their sincere gratitude to the other campaigns, family members, friends, and members of our community in the Northern Marianas, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho and other places abroad who have reached out with their prayers, condolences, and expressions of sympathy. Your kindness and support mean more than words can express.

Funeral and Mass arrangements will be shared separately.

May BJ and the entire Tenorio-Attao family find peace that their mother rests with Christ our Lord during this time of loss.
