USDA approves extension of D-NAP benefits for CNMI

The Disaster Nutrition Assistance Program (D-NAP) will continue for an additional five days following approval from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, allowing continued support for individuals and families affected by Super Typhoon Sinlaku.

The extension is intended to ensure that eligible residents impacted by the disaster have continued access to nutritious food while recovery efforts remain underway. The additional five-day period will allow more time for residents to complete the application process and receive assistance.

“This extension ensures that families affected by Super Typhoon Sinlaku continue to have access to the food assistance they need as recovery efforts move forward,” CNMI Governor David M. Apatang said. “ We thank the USDA Food and Nutrition Service for its continued support of the CNMI.”

D-NAP Open day schedules are:

● July 16-18 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

● July 20-22 (Monday-Wednesday)

● Operation hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Applicants are asked to bring copies of photo IDs for all household members; proof of residency such as a CUC bill, phone bill, or car registration; check stubs for all working household members for the disaster period only (April 11-May 10); bank statements (savings/checking) for the disaster period only (April 11-May 10); and expense receipts for the disaster period only (April 11-May 10). Expense receipts are what you paid out of pocket.

Being prepared by completing the application and bringing copies of required documents will make processing more efficient.

“By extending D-NAP, we can continue assisting eligible households and make sure no one is left behind during the recovery process,” Department of Community and Cultural Affairs Secretary Frank Rabauliman said. “We thank USDA for its ongoing support.”
