Hagåtña, Guam – Following the recent fire that affected families in Monkubok Weto on Ebeye, Kwajalein Atoll, Bank of Guam has donated $10,000 to help residents begin rebuilding their homes, restoring their daily lives, and finding comfort and hope as they heal and move forward together.

The fire displaced families and created immediate needs for food, water, clothing, hygiene supplies, and other essential items. The contribution will help support families as they work toward stability and recovery, including children, pregnant women, older adults, individuals with disabilities, and others who require additional assistance during the rebuilding process.

The Bank is working with the Kwajalein Atoll Local Government and its local representatives to help ensure the assistance reaches families and supports their most immediate needs as recovery efforts continue.

“Rebuilding takes more than materials. It takes time, courage, and the support of an entire community. While this contribution cannot replace what these families have lost, we hope it helps ease some of the burdens they are carrying and reminds them that they are not alone. Across our islands, we have always looked out for one another, especially in difficult times. As the People’s Bank, we are honored to stand with the families of Monkubok Weto and support them as they heal, rebuild, and move forward together. Their strength is a reminder of what community can accomplish, and we will continue to stand beside them along the way.”

—Joaquin P.L.G. Cook, President and Chief Executive Officer, Bank of Guam

The $10,000 donation reflects Bank of Guam’s continued commitment to supporting the long-term strength and well-being of its neighboring islands. The Bank remains hopeful that, through collective effort, compassion, and perseverance, the people of Monkubok Weto will continue rebuilding stronger together.
