The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved Disaster Unemployment Assistance for the Northern Mariana Islands in the amount of $10,162,706 as a result of Super Typhoon Sinlaku.

Funding is provided under the authority of Section 410 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.

In a statement to MP, Delegate Kimberlyn King-Hinds said, “This is $10.1 million going directly toward helping our people who lost work and income because of Super Typhoon Sinlaku. For families still trying to get back on their feet, this assistance matters. I’m grateful to FEMA and our federal partners for recognizing the very real economic impact this disaster has had across Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Recovery isn’t just about rebuilding infrastructure. It’s about helping people rebuild their lives.”
