DreamPlay closes after final day of childcare services

DreamPlay permanently closed its doors last Sept. 30, bringing an end to its childcare services in the CNMI.
The childcare provider marked its final day with a farewell message on its Instagram account, thanking the children and families it served.
“Thank you for filling our days with laughter, curiosity, and unforgettable little moments. We’ll miss your smiles, your stories, and all the fun we had together!” DreamPlay said.
“Keep learning. Keep exploring. Keep being wonderfully you! Good luck on your next big adventure!” it added.
The farewell followed DreamPlay’s Aug. 31 notice to families clarifying an earlier Aug. 27 closure announcement and confirming that Sept. 30, 2026, would be its final day of childcare services.
“After careful consideration, DreamPlay will be permanently closing, with our last day of childcare services being September 30, 2026,” DreamPlay said in the Aug. 31 notice.
DreamPlay did not state a reason for the permanent closure in that notice.
However, it did say they’re open to discussions with other interested parties that are willing to take over DreamPlay before its administrative office closed on Oct. 30.
Ahead of the closure of its childcare services, DreamPlayadvised families to arrange for their children to transition to another childcare provider by Sept. 30, while saying care would continue as normal through its final day.
For families using the Child Care and Development Fund, or CCDF, DreamPlay said it would coordinate with the program regarding their certificates and options for transferring to another provider so their children’s care could continue without a gap.
DreamPlay also said it would provide children’s records to their families and assist with transitions to other programs wherever possible.
Any outstanding account balances or credits would be reconciled and communicated individually to affected families, according to the notice.
“We understand this is a significant change for our families, and we're grateful for the trust you've placed in us to care for your children,” DreamPlay said in August.
At the time, DreamPlay thanked families for their support, saying it had been its “privilege to care for your children.”
A month later, the childcare provider closed with a similar message—this time wishing its young clients well on their “next big adventure.”
