NMI Democrats endorse Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero for Washington Delegate

The Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands (DPNMI) has endorsed Dr. Galvin Sablan Deleon Guerrero in his campaign to represent the CNMI as Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives. The endorsement was approved by vote of the DPNMI Central Executive Committee at its meeting on October 8, 2026, ahead of the November 3 general election.
“Our islands have one seat in Congress, so who sits in that seat matters,” said DPNMI Chair Annie Pickelsimer. "Dr. G shares our belief that the people of the CNMI deserve to be heard and respected in Washington, and he has already shown he can deliver. While President of Northern Marianas College, he found the resources to improve the college and was a constant advocate for its students. He listens, brings people together, and stays accountable to the families who count on him. Finding resources for our islands and speaking up for our people is exactly the job of a Delegate, and we are proud to stand with him.”
Dr. Deleon Guerrero is a longtime educator and President of Northern Marianas College. His campaign is focused on strengthening and diversifying the CNMI economy, expanding opportunities so families can stay in or return home to the islands, protecting the Commonwealth's cultural identity, and making sure the CNMI's voice is heard and respected in Washington, D.C.
“I am grateful to the NMI Democrats for their trust and support,” said Dr. Deleon Guerrero. “This campaign belongs to everyone who believes our islands deserve a delegate who listens, shows up, and fights for us. I look forward to working alongside the Party and with every voter, regardless of affiliation, to bring that kind of representation to Washington.”
Early voting for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota begins Tuesday, October 27, and runs through Monday, November 2. The CNMI general election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
