Woman, 52, hospitalized after 3-car collision on Beach Road
A 52-year-old woman was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center emergency room Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 27, after complaining of head pain following a three-vehicle collision in front of Ocean Ridge Apartments along Beach Road.
Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services public information officer Dwayne Castro said firefighters received a call from the Department of Public Safety at 11:59am reporting the accident.
Personnel from the Garapan Fire Station, including Medic-2, Medic-3, Rescue-2, and Engine-2, responded at noon and arrived at the scene at 12:03pm.
Castro said emergency responders found the three drivers still inside their respective vehicles, awake and responsive.
Firefighters conducted rapid trauma assessments, with one of the drivers, a 52-year-old woman, requesting transport to the hospital after experiencing head pain.
The woman was immobilized using a spine board and head stabilization equipment before being placed in Medic-2.
She was transported to the hospital at 12:12pm in stable condition.
The cause of the collision and the extent of damage to the vehicles were not immediately available.
The accident came a day after another three-vehicle collision at the Chalan Kiya traffic light Monday evening, Oct. 26, which also sent a woman to the hospital.
In that incident, a 19-year-old woman was transported to the hospital after developing left shoulder pain following the collision. The accident also caused traffic congestion in the area.
