Community members, animal advocates, pet-care providers, and government animal control professionals gathered Feb. 3 at Casa Marianas along Beach Road for Saipan Humane Society’s free Animal Handling and Capture Training led by Humane Innovations' animal services professional and disaster response specialist John Peaveler.

The session focused on safe animal handling, dog and cat capture techniques, and population management. Participants learned techniques designed to build confidence when responding to stray, injured, or distressed animals, and also went home with supplies to support responsible pet care, including a Seresto flea and tick collar, leash, and water bowl.
