Clement R. Bermudes was appointed by CNMI Governor David Apatang to serve as the Special Assistant for the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

ā€œI truly appreciate the Governor’s vote of confidence and I’m happy to continue serving our Commonwealth,ā€ Bermudes told Marianas Press.

Apatang said the appointment does not require the advice and consent of the Senate.

ā€œThe Lieutenant Governor and I are confident that you are qualified and will be an asset to the CNMI. Your willingness to serve our people is most appreciated,ā€ Apatang wrote in his appointment letter.

Bermudes previously resigned as CNMI Department of Public Safety Commissioner in January 2024 at the request of the late Governor Arnold Palacios.
