Bermudes appointed to lead CNMI HSEM

Clement R. Bermudes was appointed by CNMI Governor David Apatang to serve as the Special Assistant for the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

“I truly appreciate the Governor’s vote of confidence and I’m happy to continue serving our Commonwealth,” Bermudes told Marianas Press.

Apatang said the appointment does not require the advice and consent of the Senate.

“The Lieutenant Governor and I are confident that you are qualified and will be an asset to the CNMI. Your willingness to serve our people is most appreciated,” Apatang wrote in his appointment letter.

Bermudes previously resigned as CNMI Department of Public Safety Commissioner in January 2024 at the request of the late Governor Arnold Palacios.
