DOC: Meth, marijuana, tobacco, lighters, food, soda intercepted

According to CNMI DOC Commissioner Anthony Torres, on the evening of March 24, 2026, DOC staff, working in close partnership with the Department of Public Safety (DPS), observed and intercepted the corrections officer and the female suspect as they attempted to drop off methamphetamine, marijuana, tobacco, lighters, food and sodas intended for introduction into the facility. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

Torres said the contraband was seized, and the matter has been referred to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution. He said the identities of the arrested individuals are being withheld at this time pending formal charging and out of respect for ongoing investigative procedures.
