Marianas Press Tinian correspondent Sofia Del Rosario confirms that some residents and businesses have power around 7 p.m. Thursday.

It’s unclear how many Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers have had their power restored. Crews were seen working into the night to reenergize the island. According to a CUC official, at least feeder three on the island is back online for critical facilities

In a statement to MP, Tinian Mayor Edwin Aldan said, "I want to thank FEMA, DOW, CUC/Staff, Army Corps of Engineers, Governor Apatang and the GAR for really working together to make this thing possible. The leadership of Tinian in continuing to engage with CUC management in updating our community. As we move forward our community will eventually be lid and some sense of normalcy will come to each and every household. There is still a lot more to do to get back to post Super Typhoon Sinlaku. I ask for our communities patience and understanding as move forward."

CUC CFO Betty Terlaje told MP, "More bucket trucks and linemen heading to Tinian in the next few days to help restore the distribution system."

This is a developing story.
