Jayson Sablan’s Photography Featured in Tokyo-Based Publication and Exhibition

Photographer Jayson Sablan of Saipan is among 90 artists from around the world featured in Come What May, a group publication and exhibition by Ephemere, a Tokyo-based platform dedicated to meaningful photography through publications, exhibitions, and dialogue.
The project brings together artists selected through Ephemere’s international open call, inviting photographers to explore the power of triptychs — three images that come together to form a cohesive narrative, sequence, or visual story. The concept reflects this year’s festival theme, Triplicities, which explores how individual images can connect to create something greater than the sum of their parts.
Titled Come What May, the publication features 270 curated photographs that explore sequence, rhythm, and narrative structure across the works of participating artists.
Sablan’s contribution, Second Skin, explores and celebrates individuals who unapologetically embrace their true identities. Through three carefully connected images, the work builds a larger narrative around a fundamental human desire: to be seen and accepted for who we truly are.
Behind the images are the individuals who made the work possible. Sablan extends his gratitude to everyone featured in Second Skin for their trust, openness, and willingness to share a part of themselves with him. He also recognizes Asia Camacho Hilario for giving him the opportunity to photograph these individuals and create images that carry such personal meaning.
For Sablan, being part of the project is an opportunity to share his work alongside an international community of photographers whose perspectives and stories reflect the many ways people experience and understand the world.
He expressed his gratitude to Ephemere founder Anne Murayama and everyone involved in bringing the publication and exhibition to life, describing it as an honor to be part of a project that creates space for meaningful visual storytelling and artistic dialogue.
