A popular Filipino restaurant on Saipan has expanded with the opening of its second branch at Saipan Vegas, welcoming diners during its grand opening last March 8.

Kanto Diyes manager Dante Conlu said the new outlet gives the restaurant an opportunity to reach more customers while offering a larger dining area and easier parking access.

“It’s a good opportunity for Kanto Diyes to branch out in the second floor of Saipan Vegas, which is here we can accommodate our customer in a wide dining area and a big parking lot space,” Conlu said in an interview.

The restaurant opened with a special lunch service and drew a steady crowd during its first day.

“So far we have a good turnout during our first opening last Sunday, which is March 8th,” Conlu said, adding that the opening day drew fewer than 100 diners but still generated strong interest from customers.

To mark the launch, the restaurant offered opening promotions that included a complimentary appetizer-and-dessert buffet for diners ordering from the regular menu.

“Well, our buffet consists of a green salad, we have appetizers, and we have dessert as well. So just like an appetizer buffet and dessert,” he said.

Despite the current economic slowdown affecting businesses in the CNMI, Conlu said the restaurant decided to push ahead with expansion.

“For me, whatever the circumstances that we are facing right now, I think people still deserve to eat good food with quality service,” he said.

The Saipan Vegas branch will offer many of the same dishes served at the restaurant’s original location in Garapan, particularly its barbecue offerings and its signature Bacolod chicken inasal.

However, Conlu said the new branch may introduce additional menu items in the future, including a possible breakfast menu.

Operating hours currently run 11am to 2pm for lunch and 5pm to midnight for dinner, although the restaurant may adjust its closing time to align with late-night promotions and tournaments held at Saipan Vegas, such as billiards and darts events.

Conlu confirmed the original Garapan restaurant will continue operating.

“We just keep Garapan as it is because Garapan area also for those our regular customer who just living in Garapan area,” he said, adding that tourists are already familiar with the location.

Kanto Diyes Saipan Vegas is now accepting reservations. Customers may call (670) 233-2227 for inquiries.
