Mendiola fires Macaranas

Multiple sources have confirmed that CNMI DPS Commissioner Anthony Macaranas has been fired by Acting Governor Dennis Mendiola. He was informed of his termination on Monday morning.

Acting CNMI Gov. Dennis Mendiola said he will release a full statement at a later time after firing two cabinet-level members in a week.

When asked if he is considering terminating any other officials, he told local media, “No, not at all."

CNMI DPS PIO Fred Sato told Marianas Press, "Aniceto Ogumoro (Director of Police) has been delegated as the Acting Commissioner."
