1 min read

On May 27, 2026, the CNMI Government informed the Settlement Fund that it will no longer fund the 25% benefit payments beyond the July 31, 2026 pay period.

The 25% benefit payments have been 100% subsidized by the CNMI Government. The Settlement Fund is not required to pay this amount under the Consent Decree in Johnson v. Inos, Civil Case No. 09-00023 in the U.S. District Court of the Northern Mariana Islands. After July 31, 2026, Settlement Class Members will no longer receive the 25% benefit payments.

House Bill 24-84 is pending with the CNMI Legislature, which proposes $2.1 million in funding to continue these payments. The Settlement Fund does not take a position on this legislation, and furthermore, has no information regarding whether this additional funding will be passed by the Legislature.

If you have questions about the cessation of the 25% benefit payments, please contact the Division of Administrative Services at 670-664-1100.
