Regional conversations at inaugural Pacific Climate Summit about investment, innovation
MP's Thomas Manglona reports from the inaugural Pacific Climate Summit in Honolulu, Hawai'i, this week. He spoke with Dr. Austin Shelton, director of the University of Guam Center for Island Sustainability and Sea Grant, who is attending the event.
The convening brings together a group of senior leaders from government, finance, philanthropy, business, and civil society to advance climate action, strengthen regional cooperation, and aims to mobilize investment across the Asia-Pacific.
Organizers said that at a pivotal moment for global climate leadership, the Summit is designed to foster strategic dialogue, deepen cross-sector collaboration, and catalyze actionable partnerships. Convened in Hawai‘i, a natural crossroads between Asia and the Americas. They hope it provides a unique setting for policy exchange and investment-focused engagement.
