Safe Ride Program back for the holidays as DPS records an average of 71 crashes a month

The CNMI Department of Public Safety responded to more than 287 crashes due to impaired driving. This holiday season, the 4D Safe Ride Program hopes to get people home to their families safely after consuming alcohol. Residents can call 670-783-7433 or 670-483-7433 to avail of the program between November 06, 2025, and January 01, 2025 from 6 pm to 6 am.

CNMI DPS said that as of press time, Saipan has had no alcohol related fatalities on the road.

Over the years, CNMI DPS recorded the following data:

Impaired Driving Arrests:

2021

- 308 total DUI arrests

- 63 involving crash

2022

- 304 total DUI arrests

- 68 involving crash

2023

- 172 total DUI arrests

- 66 involving crash

2024

- 124 total DUI arrests

- 57 involving crash

January to October 2025

- 60 total DUI arrests

- 30 involving crash
