Sen. Hofschneider recommends hotel-airline partnership for Kanoa Resort Land Lease
Senate Fiscal Affairs Chairman Sen. Jude Hofschneider recommends that the CNMI Department of Public Lands incorporate in their request for proposal for the Kanoa Resort lease a requirement that any business interested in the lease must also be associated or affiliated with an airline company that would help bring visitors to the CNMI.
āThis hotel and airline partnership could greatly assist the CNMI in its tourism recovery plans,ā he said. Sen. Hofschneider made the suggestion in a letter to CNMI Gov. David Apatang on September 22, 2025.
āThe CNMI previously experienced long-term economic benefits with the hotel and airline partnership approach with the Nikko Hotel and Japan Airlines in the 1990s and Laulau Bay Hotel and Golf Course and Asiana Airlines in the 2000s,ā he noted. āThe CNMI has another opportunity to invite new hotel and airline partnerships with the Kanoa Resort property lease that is up for grabs at this time. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.ā
