Surveying sihek territory on Palmyra Atoll

After our 1,000 mile trip down Honolulu, we landed on Cooper Island in Palmyra Atoll, The Nature Conservancy’s preserve and research station. Nine Guam Kingfishers, or Sihek, have now made this home since September 2024. As the sun set in paradise, Marianas Press prepared to enter the wild to document their progress.
